Firefighters have prevented a major fire outbreak from spreading to nearby buildings in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.
Eko Hot Blog reports on the fire, which occurred on Saturday in the Jeka Da Fari area of the city, was quickly brought under control by emergency responders, preventing extensive damage to surrounding properties.

The Federal Fire Service in Taraba confirmed that the prompt response of firefighters helped save properties estimated at about ₦50 million.
However, the incident still resulted in the destruction of items valued at roughly ₦20 million, though officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were recorded.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Sylvanus Mikailu, the fire was reported at about 9:16 a.m. through the national emergency number 112, with the alert transmitted by the Nigerian Communications Commission.

According to the statement, the blaze affected a seven-bedroom residential building measuring approximately 100 by 100 feet belonging to Danladi Gwampo.
Firefighters from the Federal Fire Service were immediately deployed to the scene where they conducted a rapid assessment before launching an intensive firefighting operation to contain the blaze.
The operation was supported by the Taraba State Fire Service, while security personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services and the Nigerian Army provided security at the scene.
