- Popular media personality and Guinness World Record holder, Anita Natacha Akide, widely known as Tacha, has publicly criticized individuals who treat religious activities as occasional rituals rather than a consistent lifestyle.
- In a scathing critique shared on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, the former reality TV star described the trend of engaging in questionable conduct throughout the year only to perform high-profile spiritual acts as “hypocritical.”
- Tacha’s remarks centered on the tendency of many practitioners to revert to their “normal” questionable lives immediately after participating in religious events like the Hajj or front-row church attendance.
Media personality Tacha has sparked a heated conversation online after condemning what she termed the “joke” of selective religious practices in Nigeria.
Eko Hot Blog reports that speaking on the sincerity of modern faith, the entrepreneur and influencer questioned the spiritual depth of those who leverage religious seasons or specific venues to mask a year-long history of inconsistent character.

Tacha observed that a significant number of people engage in various questionable activities for most of the year, only to seek a “spiritual reset” through highly visible religious performances.
She specifically pointed out the irony of individuals flying to Mecca to perform the Tawaf around the Kaaba or occupying the front pews in church on Sundays, only to return to their prior controversial habits the moment the rituals conclude.
“The way people practice religion is almost like a joke to me,” Tacha remarked.
She argued that faith should not be reduced to seasonal appearances or performative acts, emphasizing that true religion requires a transformation that persists beyond the walls of a worship center or the conclusion of a pilgrimage.
According to her, the lack of lasting change in the lives of many practitioners suggests that these spiritual exercises are being treated as hollow traditions rather than genuine commitments to higher principles.
Tacha, who recently celebrated a decade of building her brand and personal evolution, has become increasingly vocal about social and moral issues.

Her comments come at a time when she is also celebrating her Guinness World Record honors, which she dedicated to her late mother.
By addressing the gap between religious appearance and daily conduct, she has touched on a sensitive nerve in a society that is deeply religious yet often grapples with moral contradictions.
While some fans have lauded her for her “brutal honesty” and for calling out spiritual performativity, others have debated the role of public figures in judging the spiritual journeys of others.
Nevertheless, Tacha remains firm in her stance that religion should lead to a better version of oneself every day, rather than serving as a temporary cloak for hypocrisy.
