Eko Hot Blog reports that the event, held along Kula-Nla Road, drew a large gathering of traditional rulers, political stakeholders, religious leaders, and residents across Eredo LCDA, all united in celebration of a project set to transform educational access in the community.
Representing the Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Monsuru Akinloye, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Adesanya, alongside members of the council cabinet, graced the occasion. Also in attendance were the Chief Imam of Odomola, APC Apex leaders, and several prominent monarchs including Oba Adesina Adebowale, as well as Obas from Aladepekun, Odogbawojo, Ladaba, Noforija, Poka, and representatives from Alara Kingdom.
Speaking at the ceremony, Wale Raji emphasized the importance of proximity to education, noting that no child should be subjected to long and stressful journeys before accessing learning opportunities.
“No child should walk more than three kilometers to access education, and in communities like Kula Nla, children currently travel miles daily just to attend school,” he said.
He explained that the new schools are part of his 2026 constituency projects aimed at bringing quality and convenient education closer to the people. “These schools are designed to ensure that every child has access to quality education within their immediate environment,” he added.
The lawmaker further highlighted his direct investment in the education sector, stressing that beyond facilitation, he has personally founded several schools across the constituency.
“I have not only facilitated schools, I have also founded them to ensure our children have access to proper learning environments,” he stated. “We have established schools in Ilege, Oko-Abe, Temu, Owu-Ikosi, Kula Nla, and now along Adesina and Adebowale roads.”
Beyond education, he pointed to other infrastructural strides across Eredo LCDA, including road construction projects in Mojoda, Pobo, and Aladepekun, which are set for commissioning soon, as well as the provision of solar-powered water systems and street lighting. “We are not campaigning with words but with visible projects that people can see and attest to,” he declared.
He also hinted at more developments in the pipeline, stressing the importance of continuity in leadership. “The person who understands how to attract and execute impactful projects should be given the opportunity to continue serving the people,” he said.
In his remarks, Oba Adesina Adebowale not only praised the initiative but highlighted its long-term impact on the community. “We appreciate Hon. Wale Raji for this laudable project and for the numerous developments he has brought to Odomola and Eredo at large,” he said.
“This project will bring relief to our people, especially our children who have had to travel long distances in search of education. It is a legacy that will benefit generations to come.”
Other traditional rulers present also delivered goodwill messages, praising the initiative and describing it as a timely intervention that would ease the burden on families and improve the future of children in the community.
The groundbreaking ceremony marks yet another milestone in the drive to bridge the educational gap in rural communities, aligning with global standards that advocate accessible and inclusive education for all children.
