- Three nurses abducted from a Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Akure were rescued by Amotekun operatives at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.
- A 45-year-old man and his 15-year-old son, kidnapped on Friday evening at Pelebe community, were also freed following a heavy gun battle.
- The rescued victims are currently receiving medical attention at the Amotekun health facility following their ordeal.
Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun, have successfully rescued five persons, including three nurses, who were kidnapped by gunmen in separate incidents within the state capital.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the breakthroughs occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 28, 2026, after intense tactical operations led by the corps.

The three nurses were abducted at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Saturday when armed bandits stormed a government-owned Primary Health Centre in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure.
According to eyewitness accounts from patients at the facility, the attackers arrived in a bus, forcefully entered the premises, and whisked the health workers away while other staff members narrowly escaped.
However, their freedom was short-lived as Amotekun operatives intercepted the kidnappers, rescuing the nurses by 4:30 a.m.
In a related development, the Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the rescue of a father and his teenage son who were snatched at Pelebe community along Oda Road on Friday night.

The rescue operation for the duo took place around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Adeleye described the encounter as a “heavy confrontation,” indicating a significant gun battle between the security agency and the kidnappers before the victims were secured.
Commander Adeleye assured the public that the safety of Ondo residents remains the government’s top priority.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies to help curb the activities of bandits and kidnappers in the state.
All five rescued victims are reported to be stable and are currently undergoing treatment and trauma debriefing at the command’s medical facility.
