Troops of the 145 Battalion (Rear) under Operation EASTERN SANITY have recovered a stolen vehicle during an ongoing security operation in Abia State, Eko Hot Blog reports
According to a statement by the Nigerian Army, the operation was carried out in the Uratta and Umuchima forest areas as part of efforts to tackle criminal activities in the region.

The statement, signed by Mazinho Attah, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 14 Brigade, explained that the troops acted on credible intelligence to conduct a coordinated search-and-rescue mission in the forest.
During the operation, a stolen Toyota Camry was recovered. The vehicle had reportedly been taken from a victim, Bright Ochinachi, who was abducted along the Umuahia–Aba Road on March 15, 2026.

The statement noted that the victim later escaped from captivity, while the vehicle was traced and recovered by troops during the ongoing operation.
The recovered car is currently in military custody and will be returned to its owner after necessary procedures are completed.
Meanwhile, the Army said efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend those responsible for the incident.
