While congratulating Christians at home and in the diaspora, Tunji-Ojo emphasized that the season is more than just a break from work.
He encouraged Nigerians of all faiths to imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ, specifically focusing on forbearance and tolerance to strengthen national unity.
“Easter is a period that reminds us of the values of community that keep us together as a nation,” the Minister stated.
He added that the government remains committed to implementing policies that foster economic growth and shared prosperity, describing these as essential pillars for a “national rebirth.”

The announcement comes as various states also prepare for the break. Earlier, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia declared a similar holiday for state workers, highlighting the religious importance of the season across the federation.
Security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police, are expected to be on high alert during the period to ensure peaceful celebrations across the country.
