The ancient town of Araromi came alive with celebration, unity, and renewed hope as Oba Lukman Olayemi Arowolo, Oguntimehin I, Gbadewolu of Araromi Kingdom, empowered scores of residents during the 9th Annual Oguntimehin Day.

This year’s celebration stood out for its robust empowerment programme, carefully designed to uplift livelihoods and promote economic independence among the people.
In a remarkable display of leadership and compassion, Oba Lukman Olayemi Arowolo facilitated the distribution of various empowerment tools to beneficiaries drawn from Araromi Oguntimehin, Ibeju Agbe, Sambakiu, Ita-Afa, Adeshoye, Aiyegbami, Iba Oloja, Ogunfuyi, Debojo, Solu Alade, Orimedu, Lakowe, and other surrounding communities.
Items distributed included hairdressing equipment, tailoring machines, makeup kits, charcoal stoves, grinding machines, freezers, catering equipment, and weaving machines.
Others received specialized vocational tools such as tiling equipment, plumbing machines, and vulcanizing machines, while selected beneficiaries were presented with motorcycles to support mobility and business expansion.
Addressing the gathering, the monarch reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of his people, stating that “this empowerment initiative is a deliberate effort to reduce hardship and create sustainable means of livelihood for our people.”
He further noted that “our goal is to see every household thrive, and this can only be achieved when individuals are equipped with the right tools and opportunities.”
The royal father also used the occasion to call for unity and collective responsibility, emphasizing that “community development is a shared duty, and together we must continue to support one another for lasting progress.”
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as beneficiaries received their items with gratitude and joy.
Many described the gesture as life-changing, especially in the face of current economic challenges.
One of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation, saying, “this support has lifted a huge burden off me. I now have what I need to start and grow my business.”
