The All Progressives Congress (APC) has picked its candidates for all 24 House of Representatives seats in Lagos State following primary elections conducted across the state’s federal constituencies last Saturday, May 16.
According to the full list obtained by EKO HOT BLOG, the exercise produced a mix of returning lawmakers, fresh faces, and one high-profile transition from the state legislature to the federal stage.
EDITOR’S PICKS
The most prominent name among the new entrants is Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Obasa has represented Agege Constituency I in the state assembly for 23 years, first elected in 2003, and has served as Speaker since 2015.

He secured the APC ticket for Agege Federal Constituency unopposed, with party delegates across the 13 political wards unanimously endorsing his candidacy.
His move to the federal level ends a long run at the state assembly and opens the Agege Constituency I seat he is vacating.
Among the returning lawmakers, Hon. James Faleke of Ikeja stands out as the most senior figure. Faleke, who has been in the House since 2011, is seeking a fifth consecutive term and is also a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body in the Lagos APC.

Three others are going for a fourth term. Hon. Wale Raji of Epe, who made history in 2023 as the first lawmaker to win a third consecutive mandate for the constituency, secured his ticket. Hon. Babajimi Benson of Ikorodu defeated his sole challenger in a direct primary across the 19 wards of the constituency to earn a fourth-term ticket. Hon. Dolapo Badru of Lagos Island I, a third-term member of the House, also secured his ticket for a fourth attempt.
The Kosofe Federal Constituency primary was the most disputed of the exercise. Dele Osinowo, a former council chairman, was announced as the winner by the designated returning officer, but the outcome was immediately contested.

Incumbent lawmaker Kafilat Ogbara claimed she had won the poll, while Osinowo equally declared himself winner.
At least one other aspirant also rejected the result, and a coalition of civil society organisations has called on all parties to seek redress through proper channels rather than self-help.
Also notable is the return of Mufutau Egberongbe to the APC ticket in Apapa. Egberongbe, a former member of the House who lost his seat in the 2022 primaries to Adesola Adedayo, won the ticket this time to make a comeback bid for the constituency.

The full list of the 24 APC candidates for Lagos House of Representatives seats is as follows: Mufutau Egberongbe (Apapa), Olabrewaju Moses (Amuwo Odofin), Alli Adeyemi (Mushin I), Fayinka Moses (Mushin II), Laguda Fuad (Surulere I), Okunola Lanre (Surulere II), Mudashiru Obasa (Agege), Atanda Lawal Fuad (Etiosa), Aiyetun Taiwo (Oshodi I), and Oloyede Bello (Oshodi II).
