EKO HOT BLOG reports that the approval is part of ongoing efforts by the state government to boost morale in the health sector and make public service more attractive to professionals.
The State Head of Service, Bayo Philip, announced the development in Akure during an annual get-together and send-off ceremony for retired permanent secretaries and tutors-general.
Philip said the new salary structure is expected to enhance productivity and address manpower shortages in public hospitals across the state.
He also disclosed that the state government plans to recruit more health and civil service workers to strengthen service delivery.
According to him, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration has continued to prioritise workers’ welfare, including timely payment of retirement benefits and expansion of the workforce.
Philip revealed that about 5,000 new workers have already been employed across various sectors in the state to improve efficiency and public service delivery.
He added that terminal benefits for retired permanent secretaries are now being paid promptly without delays.
The Head of Service also noted that the government has approved accommodation support for about 150 retired graduate headmasters whose cases had remained unresolved since 2009.
He lamented that some of the affected retirees had died while awaiting resolution of their entitlements.

Philip urged retired permanent secretaries to remain engaged in governance by offering mentorship and advisory support, stressing that their experience remains valuable to the state administration.
