The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), aligned with the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called on Chief Bode George to return to the party’s mainstream leadership structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the appeal was made by the State Organising Secretary of the faction, Mr Hakeem Olalemi, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos.

Olalemi noted that Chief Bode George, a former PDP Deputy National Chairman, remains an influential figure within the party despite ongoing internal disagreements. He said George’s experience and long-standing contributions to the PDP make him an important stakeholder in efforts to reposition the party.
According to him, there is a need for unity and reconciliation within the party as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
“Chief Bode George is always welcome in the PDP. We have great respect for him and there is room for him within the party,” Olalemi said.
He added that the party regards George as a foundational member whose input is still valuable to its growth and stability.
Olalemi further expressed confidence that the PDP remains united in principle, despite differences among its leaders and factions.

“Chief Bode George loves the PDP. He cannot leave the PDP. He is coming back to the mainstream to work for the party’s progress. He is our father, a foundation member, and nobody can question his place in the party,” he said.
The comment comes amid ongoing leadership tensions within the PDP, as different blocs continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
