The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh, has called on the Nigerian Super Eagles to aim for victory in their upcoming match against Libya.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Diana-Mary Nsan, on Thursday, Enoh also cautioned the team against complacency as they prepare to face the Mediterranean Knights in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Friday.

“Your solid start in the qualifiers has put you in a favourable position to secure a place in the 2025 AFCON tournament.

“Nonetheless, you must guard your place, as the Mediterranean Knights will aim to defy expectations, seeking at least a draw in Uyo. Never undermine your opponents.

“The nation will be rooting for you; make us proud, and good luck,” Enoh said.

Super Eagles Head Coach, Augustine Eguavoen, is targeting a maximum of six points from the double header fixtures.

“There are possibilities and opportunities for us to sail home at the end of these two matches, and we will do our best to take our chances and have the ticket,” Eguavoen said.
