The Appeal Committee, chaired by Dr. Muhammed Mustapha Fagge, said its resolutions were based on fairness, transparency, and strict adherence to the party’s electoral guidelines.
According to Fagge, the panel carefully examined petitions, documentary evidence, and submissions from aggrieved aspirants before reaching its conclusions.
He confirmed that while the committee upheld the emergence of Shuaibu Idris Mikati as the ADC governorship candidate for Kaduna State, it also validated the victories of Tukur Salisu Kakeyi for the Zaria Federal Constituency and Muhammed Mahmoud Aliyu for the Soba Federal Constituency.
However, the committee identified irregularities in several other areas and ordered fresh or rerun primaries where it found procedural breaches or omissions.
In the Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency, a rerun was ordered after the panel discovered that a screened aspirant, Ibrahim Danlami Kubau, was wrongly omitted from the ballot.
A fresh primary was also directed for Kaduna South Federal Constituency following findings that there was insufficient evidence confirming that elections were conducted across all wards in the area.
The committee further directed rerun exercises in affected constituencies and wards across Kaura, Soba, Ikara, Kajuru, Badarawa/Malali, Magajin Gari II, Birnin Gwari, Tudun Wada West, Igabi, Kagarko, Kawo, Zaria, Chikun/Kajuru, and Kudan/Makarfi, among others.
Fagge stated that all rerun primaries would be conducted in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines to ensure fairness and credibility.

On the Kaduna North Senatorial District primary, the committee ruled that any consensus or affirmation arrangement must have the full consent of all stakeholders involved before it can be considered valid.
The Appeal Committee reaffirmed its commitment to resolving internal disputes and strengthening democratic processes within the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
