The declaration took place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, following a series of visits to key political and traditional leaders in Epe, including APC Apex Leader in the division, Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki (Bamu), and Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun. The group later converged at Salako Field, beside the Recreation Centre, where they made their position known publicly.

Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Bamu commended the Arewa community for their loyalty and consistent support for the ruling party, noting that their show of solidarity reflects confidence in the APC-led administration.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has performed wonderfully well and we want him to achieve more for this nation, that is why we are ready to re-elect him come 2027,” he stated.

The traditional ruler, Oba Animashaun, who was warmly received with chants of “APC” and “Asiwaju,” expressed appreciation to the Arewa community for their peaceful conduct and alignment with the development of Epe. He also urged them to support APC candidates across all levels in the forthcoming elections.

“At the federal level, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our Presidential candidate; at the state level, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat is our incoming Governor,” the monarch said, while endorsing other party candidates within the constituency.

Also addressing the gathering, Hon. Abiodun Mustain Tobun reiterated his commitment to quality representation and encouraged continued grassroots support for the APC, assuring the community that better days lie ahead.

Explaining the purpose of the rally, the Chairman of the Arewa Community in Epe Local Government, Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Governor, stated that the endorsement was based on the group’s assessment of the President’s performance and the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We have observed the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu vividly and seen the good impact of his Renewed Hope Agenda, that is why we are declaring our total support for his re-election,” he said.

He further highlighted key infrastructural projects, including the coastal road initiative, which he noted would enhance connectivity across regions.

The chairman also addressed leadership concerns within the Arewa community, presenting his certificate of recognition to reaffirm his position as the duly recognized leader.

Other leaders, including the Vice Chairman of Arewa in Lagos East Senatorial District, Comrade Ahmedeen, and the Woman Leader, Hajia Aminat, praised the President’s performance, describing it as impactful and people-oriented.

The event ended on a celebratory note, with members expressing enthusiasm and readiness to mobilize support for the APC in the 2027 elections.
