Baba Oba, Thompson Ogunsanwo to Be Laid to Rest Feb 17
The family of Pa Thompson Ogunsanwo has announced the burial plans for their Patriarch.
Thompson Olawale Ogunsanwo, popularly known as the Superior Evangelist, will, on February 15, be laid to rest after a richly fulfilling life’s sojourn.

Ogunsanwo, who is the father of a highly respected monarch, the Alara of Ilara, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, was called to glory on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
The prequel to the late clergyman’s return to mother earth will begin with a service of songs on
Wednesday, 15th February 2023, by 3:00 pm.
The service of songs will hold at his residence — 2/4 Alao Oko Osi street, Dental Bus-stop, sango-Idi Iroko Express, Sango Otta Ogun State.
Christian wake keep will follow on Thursday, 16th February, by 4:00 pm. This will be held at the Catholic Mission House, Mojoda Ibonwo Road, Eredo LCDA, Epe Lagos state. The preferred colours of the day are Purple and White.
Funeral Service/Private Interment is slated for Friday, 17th February, by 10 am. This will hold at the Ogunsanwo Family Compound, 20A Aleke street, Ibonwon Eredo LCDA Epe, Lagos State.
The color code for the day is White Fila/Gele on Ankara (Aso Ebi).
Entertainment of Guests will follow immediately at Catholic Mission House at Mojoda – Ibonwon Road Eredo LCDA, Epe, Lagos State.
While speaking in the wake of Baba Oba’s demise, Alara described the late Baba Oba as a beacon light that was his life’s compass, his fortitude, strength, and inspiration, which helped him weather life’s numerous adversities.
He, however, took solace in the fact that Baba Oba lived a fulfilling and exemplary life and will be held in the highest regard by all those who shared the stage with him during his life’s sojourn.
Born to Pa Haruna Martins Ogunsanwo and Madam Tanimowo ogunsanwo in 1937 in ibonwon, Epe Division of Lagos, Baba Oba was the last child out of seven children.
He began his primary school education at the saint joseph primary school, lafiaji, lagos island, and then proceeded to Ansarrudeen Muslim primary school, ibowon ep,e where he finished his primary school education and moved on to Mayflower Secondary school, ikenne, Ogun state for his secondary school education.
He worked as a teacher at Catholic Boys High School Ijebu-ode, Ogun state, before joining the Nigerian cocoa board.
Baba Oba tied the knot with his wife, Mrs. Adenike Margaret Ogunsanwo, in 1963. The couple spent the next two decades in Ibadan, where Ogunsanwo worked for many years and retired in 1986 as administrative manager at the Nigerian cocoa board.
He is blessed with 5 surviving children and many grandchildren.

Baba Oba Thompson Olawale Ogunsanwo was born to Pa Haruna Martins Ogunsanwo and Madam Tanimowo Ogunsanwo in 1937 in the Ibonwon Epe Division of Lagos into a family of seven; which he was last born amongst his siblings.
He started his primary school education at the Saint Joseph Primary School Lafiaji Lagos Island but proceeded to Ansar- ud -deen Muslim Primary School Ibowon Epe, where he finished his primary school education and proceeded to Mayflower Secondary School Ikenne in Ogun state for his secondary school education.
He worked as a teacher at Catholic Boys High School in Ijebu-ode Ogun state before he got a job at the Nigerian Cocoa Board. He married his wife, Mrs. Adenike Margaret Ogunsanwo, in 1963 and started his life with her in Ibadan, where he worked for many years and retired in 1986 as administrative manager at the Nigerian Cocoa Board.
Being a hardworking man and not tired and having the love of his family and dedicated to their needs and wellbeing, he took up another job with Thor Nigeria Limited in 1988 as their General Manager, a cocoa merchant which he used his knowledge for the upliftment of the company, he joined the Celestial Church of Christ where he gave his life to God and was a dedicated worshipper and lover of God till the end, he kept up his hard work by going ahead to get contract jobs from the Lagos State Government part of which he built a police station at Badagry and presented to the Lagos State Government.
