Sam Ode made this declaration through a statement released on Wednesday by Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Alia.
Addressing attendees at the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting in Makurdi, the deputy governor assured residents of Zone C that Governor Alia’s administration has extensive developmental initiatives for the area.
He then encouraged all citizens of the state to sustain their support for the current government to facilitate further progress and growth.
According to Naija News, APC stakeholders convened at the state government house on Tuesday amidst the ongoing leadership turmoil within the ruling party.
During the meeting, Governor Alia asserted that the party maintains peace, cautioning against divisive remarks that could disrupt the state.
Meanwhile, Alia, has announced that the state will launch its own local security outfit by the end of May 2024.
During the APC stakeholders’ gathering in Makurdi on Tuesday, the governor declared that the state would collaborate with other security agencies to address security issues.
Governor Alia further revealed that his administration is actively procuring Hilux vans and motorcycles to enhance the security outfit’s coverage across the state.
He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the security forces for their efforts in securing the nation, particularly in Benue state.
According to him, the introduction of the state-owned security outfit will enhance the security of Benue communities, allowing farmers to safely return to their farms.
There has been reports of numerous attacks by suspected Fulani herders in the state over the years.

Approximately three million residents across the state have been forced from their homes, leading them to seek refuge in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps.
