A medical doctor, Ere Ogbachi, has passed away after developing complications shortly after giving birth to triplets in Bayelsa State.
Eko Hot Blog gathered her death was disclosed on Wednesday by her brother, Meshack Sintei, in a Facebook post.

He explained that she was moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the Federal Medical Centre Yenagoa, where she died in the early hours of April 14, 2026.
According to the family, Dr. Ogbachi had successfully delivered her babies at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital before her condition suddenly worsened, necessitating urgent medical intervention.

The statement noted that complications arose soon after childbirth, leading to her transfer to intensive care. Despite the efforts of healthcare workers to stabilise her, her condition continued to decline.
Family members described the emotional ordeal, recounting how medical staff worked tirelessly to save her as she struggled to breathe. They added that her oxygen levels dropped significantly during treatment, signalling a critical deterioration.

Sintei expressed deep grief over the loss, describing his sister as a committed doctor and a new mother. He said her passing was a painful blow to the family and a significant loss.
Dr. Ogbachi was remembered as a dedicated professional who served as a registrar at NDUTH, a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, and a graduate of Niger Delta University.
At the time of reporting, hospital authorities had yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
