Speaking before the takeoff of the operation in Ado Ekiti, the Commissioner of Police, Falade Adegoroye, said the move was necessary due to intelligence reports suggesting that criminals being pushed out of neighbouring states like Kwara, Kogi, Ondo, and Osun could attempt to relocate to Ekiti.
He explained that the operation would focus on combing forests, clearing criminal hideouts, conducting raids, and increasing police visibility, especially in border communities and identified flashpoints.
According to him, the initiative is aimed at preventing crimes such as kidnapping, cattle rustling, vandalism, and attacks on public facilities, while also ensuring farmers can safely return to their farms during the rainy season.
Adegoroye urged officers involved in the operation to remain disciplined, professional, and respectful of human rights, assuring residents that the exercise would be conducted responsibly.

He also commended Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for supporting security agencies with resources and logistics to enhance their effectiveness.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser on Security Matters, Ebenezer Ogundana, described the operation as a proactive step to sustain peace and prevent criminals from finding safe haven in the state.
Residents were encouraged to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information to help maintain safety across Ekiti.
