“Nobody can do what I intend to do in the North,” Obi stated, adding that with the right investment in agriculture and security, the region could become a bigger revenue source for Nigeria than its petroleum sector.
Addressing the political dynamics of the region, Obi pushed back against the notion that his electoral success depends entirely on endorsements from figures like Nasir El-Rufai or Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
While acknowledging he is open to collaboration, he maintained that the country is bigger than any individual.
He argued that the real path to securing northern votes lies in solving the fundamental issues of insecurity, poor healthcare, and lack of access to quality education that have historically hindered the region’s growth.

Obi also called for a shift in leadership style, urging Nigerians to move past ethnic and religious divisions.
He noted that his proposed development models are inspired by successful international examples which can be adapted to the Nigerian context.
Central to this progress, he noted, is the restoration of security, without which no meaningful development can occur. He further urged the current administration to protect the opposition, stating that a robust opposition is vital for national accountability and a healthy democracy.
