Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, has sadly announced the passing of her mother, Olori Esther Iyalaje Adegboye.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Afuye confirmed the news in a statement released in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday.
According to the Deputy Governor, Olori Adegboye, a native of Ikere Ekiti in the Ikere Local Government Area, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday after a prolonged illness. She was 97 years old.

“With hearts full of praise and gratitude to Almighty God, we announce the passing of our matriarch, Olori Iyalaje Adegboye of the Akayejo Ruling House of Ikere Kingdom. She departed in the early hours of today at the ripe age of 97.
“She is survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members. Burial arrangements will be announced later,” the statement read.
Afuye described her late mother as a compassionate and resourceful leader whose absence would leave a significant void.
