Residents of Eredo Local Council Development Area have been informed of the official resumption of the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise across Lagos State, beginning on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the exercise, which forms part of the state government’s initiative to promote environmental cleanliness and public health, will hold every last Saturday of the month between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Residents are encouraged to actively participate by cleaning their surroundings, clearing drainage channels in front of their homes and business premises, sweeping their environment, and properly disposing of waste.
Speaking on the importance of the exercise, a council official stressed that environmental sanitation requires the cooperation of all members of the community.
“Environmental sanitation is not just a government policy but a shared civic duty that requires the cooperation of all residents.”
Authorities also noted that the exercise is aimed at preventing flooding, improving hygiene, and creating a cleaner and healthier environment for residents across communities.
“All residents are expected to participate actively by ensuring their surroundings are properly cleaned during the sanitation hours.”
The sanitation exercise will be strictly enforced across the state, and residents have been urged to comply fully with the directive to sustain a cleaner and safer environment.
