Ẹkọ Hot Blog reports that the Grand Chief Imam of Epe, Lagos State, Sadallah Abiola AbdulRahman has charged the Muslim faithful to embrace the virtues of fulfilling promises and showing love to others.

He made the charge on Sunday while delivering a powerful Sallah message to the faithful gathered at the Oke Balogun Central Mosque, Epe.

Imam AbdulRahman drew a parallel between the actions of Prophet Ibrahim (Anabi Ibrahim) in the Holy Quran and the lives of the believers today.

He recounted the profound story of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith and commitment to his covenant with God, where he was prepared to sacrifice his only son.

However, God, in His infinite mercy, provided a ram as a substitute for the sacrifice, thus rewarding Prophet Ibrahim’s steadfastness and obedience.

“The story of Prophet Ibrahim is a timeless example of faith, obedience, and the importance of keeping one’s promises,” Imam Abdul Rahman emphasized.

“Just as Prophet Ibrahim fulfilled his promise to God, we too must strive to fulfill our promises to each other and to the Almighty.

This is a cornerstone of our faith and a testament to our integrity and commitment.”

The Imam urged the congregation to reflect on the significance of promises in their daily lives, highlighting that keeping one’s word fosters trust, respect, and harmony within the community.

He called upon everyone to embody these values, especially during the holy period of Eid al-Adha, a time of sacrifice, reflection, and gratitude.

“Let us not only remember the symbolic act of sacrifice but also the underlying principles it teaches us,” he continued.

“In our interactions with others, let us be people of our word, showing love and compassion to those around us. This is the true spirit of Sallah.”

In addition to his message on fulfilling promises, Imam Abdul Rahman also spoke about the importance of unity and mutual support within the Muslim community.

He encouraged the faithful to reach out to those in need, share their blessings, and foster a spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood.

“During this holy period, let us extend our hands to the less fortunate, the sick, and the vulnerable,” he said.

“By doing so, we honor the teachings of Islam and strengthen the bonds that hold us together as a community.”

The sermon concluded with a collective prayer for peace, prosperity, and divine guidance for the nation and the world at large.

The congregation left the mosque inspired and determined to implement the lessons of the sermon in their lives.

The Sallah celebration at Oke Balogun Central Mosque was marked by joyous festivities, communal prayers, and the sharing of meals, embodying the essence of unity, love, and faith.
