Honourable Sadiq Abdullahi, representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.

He explained that prolonged factionalism within the party undermined his ability to effectively serve his constituents. He formalized his resignation in a letter sent to his ward chairman and released to journalists.

The lawmaker’s decision followed extensive consultations with local stakeholders. He aims to sustain “purposeful, inclusive, and effective representation” for the people of Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, moving beyond partisan boundaries.
Abdullahi’s resignation, coming shortly after that of former National Secretary S.K.E Udeh Okoye, highlights the growing discontent within the PDP leadership.
These twin departures signal serious instability over the party’s handling of internal leadership disputes and its strategic direction for upcoming elections. Abdullahi, however, sincerely thanked the PDP for the opportunity he gained while serving on its platform.
