The Kwankwasiyya Movement has confirmed that its national leader and the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is currently in talks with the African Democratic Congress and the National Democratic Congress as part of ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the movement’s Spokesperson II, Mansur Kurugu, disclosed this in an interview on Monday, stating that discussions among key political figures were progressing steadily.
Kurugu explained that although negotiations had reached an advanced stage, no final decision had been made on the political platform the coalition would adopt.
“It is true that Kwankwaso is in talks with ADC and NDC, and we are optimistic that the leaders will end up adopting one of the parties before the 2027 elections,” he said.
He added that the ongoing consultations involve prominent political actors across party lines, with dialogue still continuing.
According to him, notable figures such as Peter Obi, Seyi Makinde, and Seriake Dickson are actively participating in the talks.
“The likes of Seriake Dickson, Peter Obi, and Seyi Makinde are all part of the talks, and they have progressed significantly,” Kurugu added.
He further stated that the coalition could eventually settle for any of the platforms under consideration, including the NNPP itself, as leaders weigh their options.
“At the end of the discussions, the leaders will adopt either ADC, NDC, or even NNPP as their final destination,” he said.

The development follows a recent meeting hosted by Kwankwaso in Kano, where he received Makinde, Obi, and Dickson during a Sallah celebration, further fueling speculations about a possible political alliance ahead of 2027.
