EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Julius Abure-led faction has summoned a NEC meeting for Monday, while the opposing camp backed by Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti has scheduled its own meeting for Wednesday, April 9th.
The Abure faction circulated invitations late Sunday to “relevant stakeholders” for Monday’s gathering, signaling its determination to press ahead with party affairs despite the ongoing leadership dispute.
In response, the Obi/Otti faction announced plans for its NEC meeting in Abuja, which will be followed by a Town Hall engagement at Transcorp Hilton Hotel. According to a statement from Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), the meeting serves as a crucial follow-up to the Supreme Court judgment which they claim effectively terminated Abure’s leadership.

Labour Party NEC Meetings
POMR spokesperson Ibrahim Umar stated the Wednesday meeting will include prominent party figures such as the 2023 vice presidential candidate, current and former National Assembly members, National Caretaker Committee representatives, past governorship candidates, and delegates from the NLC/TUC Political Commission.
