- Lagos Begins Ajah–Admiralty Road Reconstruction, Sets 64-Day Diversion
- Rehabilitation of Sections 2 and 3 of the Lekki–Epe Expressway will commence on Sunday, January 25, 2026
- Daramola said the government has directed the contractor to proceed to the site and begin reconstruction activities as scheduled
The Lagos State Government has announced a 64-day traffic diversion to facilitate the reconstruction of the Ajah Bridge to Admiralty section (inbound Lagos) of the Lekki–Epe Expressway.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the disclosure was made on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Mr Olufemi Daramola, who said the rehabilitation of Sections 2 and 3 of the Lekki–Epe Expressway will commence on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Daramola explained that the project is expected to last for about 64 days and will be executed in phases, in line with an approved traffic management plan designed to minimise disruption to road users.
According to him, construction work will be carried out intersection by intersection, rather than across the entire corridor simultaneously, to ensure smoother vehicular movement throughout the duration of the project.
He added that the contractor would operate both day and night to accelerate progress and deliver the project within the scheduled timeline.
The special adviser noted that the state government had previously engaged stakeholders with plans to mobilise to the site late last year, but the commencement of work was postponed due to the Yuletide festivities.

With the festive period now over, Daramola said the government has directed the contractor to proceed to the site and begin reconstruction activities as scheduled.
He further disclosed that major work at the intersections would be carried out at night to ease traffic flow and reduce congestion along the busy Lekki–Epe corridor.
The Lagos State Government urged motorists and residents in the affected areas to cooperate with traffic management officials and adhere to diversion guidelines throughout the reconstruction period.
