Speaking at the briefing, the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Engr. Olufemi Daramola, said the state completed 130 roads covering about 113 kilometres within the last year despite rising construction costs and economic challenges.
According to him, key projects delivered during the review period include the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge and approach roads, Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road in Agege, Abaranje Road in Alimosho and several strategic roads across Badagry and Ikorodu.
He added that a number of major projects have been completed and are awaiting commissioning, including sections of the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway corridor, Gberigbe Road in Ikorodu, Aka-Kemberi Road in Ojo, Ijegun-Ijagemo Road and Akesan-Igando Road in Alimosho.
Daramola said the administration remains focused on building resilient infrastructure capable of supporting the needs of Lagos’ growing population while strengthening economic activities across the state.
The government also revealed significant progress in the health sector. The Special Adviser on Works, Dr. Adekunle Olayinka, disclosed that construction is ongoing on a 280-bed General Hospital in Ojo, a 150-bed Massey Children’s Hospital and a 1,500-bed Psychiatric Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in Ketu-Ejinrin.
According to him, the projects are expected to improve healthcare delivery while generating employment opportunities for residents. He noted that the Ojo General Hospital project has created about 600 jobs, while the Massey Children’s Hospital project has generated approximately 750 jobs.

In the justice sector, the state highlighted the commissioning of the Commercial Court at Tapa, Lagos Island, alongside the construction and renovation of magistrates’ courts, judges’ quarters, police facilities and mediation centres.
The government also reported ongoing investments in education infrastructure, including projects at Lagos State University, Lagos State University of Education and Lagos State University of Science and Technology, as well as renovation works at the Nigerian Law School.
Other projects highlighted include the redevelopment of the J. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, the remodelling of Teslim Balogun Stadium, construction of an elderly care home in Epe, new fire stations, police barracks and a state data centre.
On digital infrastructure, Daramola disclosed that the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency facilitated the deployment of about 30,000 kilometres of fibre duct infrastructure and attracted approximately $22 million in foreign direct investment to support fibre optic expansion across the state.
The government said the initiative is expected to improve broadband penetration, support smart-city development and enhance digital inclusion.
Officials, however, acknowledged challenges such as flooding, climate change, rising construction costs and infrastructure vandalism, but insisted that the administration remains committed to delivering sustainable infrastructure that supports the state’s long-term economic growth and development.
