The Rotary Club of Lagos Golden Hearts, Ikeja, on Saturday staged a vibrant and well-attended investiture and fundraising ceremony that blended tradition, celebration, and a renewed commitment to service as the club installed its new President, Rotarian Kehinde Onabanjo, for the 2024/2025 Rotary year.

The ceremony opened with warm remarks from the event’s chairperson, who highlighted the club’s rapid growth and the unwavering determination of its founding leaders.

His remarks set the pace for an evening marked by camaraderie, reflection, and the unmistakable energy of a club eager to deepen its impact.
Outgoing President, Rotarian Gbenga Afere, delivered an emotional valedictory speech, recounting the club’s journey from its chartering on March 8, 2024, to its early successes in maternal and child health, medical outreach, and educational support.

In her acceptance speech, the newly installed President, Rotarian Kehinde Onabanjo, pledged to lead with transparency, inclusion, and renewed purpose.
She outlined her vision for the year, emphasising membership development, community-centred projects, and strengthened partnerships.
“Today marks a new chapter,” she said. “Our mission is clear to raise the bar of service and ensure that the Golden Hearts continue to shine wherever humanity calls.”

The ceremony also saw the induction of new Rotarians who pledged to uphold the ideals of Rotary. Awards were presented to outstanding members and partners in recognition of their contributions to the club’s maiden-year achievements.
