Eko Hot Blog reports that the project reflects the administration’s commitment to its development blueprint, particularly the focus on infrastructural growth aimed at improving connectivity and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
So far, major components of the project have been successfully completed. These include extensive land clearing, cutting, and grading to ensure proper alignment, as well as the laying of a durable stone base designed to support long-term usage.
In addition, two-sided drainage systems spanning approximately 1.6 kilometers have been constructed to effectively channel stormwater, prevent flooding, and safeguard adjoining properties.
With these foundational works in place, the project has now moved into its concluding phase, which involves the installation of interlocking paving stones to provide a smooth and durable driving surface.
Further enhancements will include the installation of street lighting to improve visibility, boost security, and support commercial and social activities within the axis, particularly during nighttime.
Speaking on the development, the project was described as a practical step toward strengthening infrastructure and addressing critical needs within the community.
“This project reflects a commitment to delivering infrastructure that directly improves the daily lives of residents and supports sustainable development,” a stakeholder noted.
Residents and road users within the Lakowe–Losoro–Lagasa corridor have expressed optimism about the nearing completion of the project, noting that it will significantly ease movement, reduce travel time, and enhance economic activities in the area.
The road project stands as another milestone in the ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and drive development across Ibeju-Lekki, reinforcing a broader commitment to people-centered governance.
