- Focus on early detection, prevention, and awareness
- Supported by Lagos First Lady and TB Ambassador Ramat Kasali
Residents of Lekki are set to benefit from a free tuberculosis screening and medical outreach as the Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) intensifies efforts to promote public health and curb the spread of Tuberculosis.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the initiative, themed around awareness, early detection, and prevention, is part of the council’s broader commitment to ensuring accessible healthcare for all residents.
The programme is supported by the First Lady of Lagos State, Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and is being championed at the grassroots level by Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali, who serves as an Ambassador for End Tuberculosis in Lagos State.
According to the organisers, the outreach will focus on providing free TB testing, health screenings, and community sensitization aimed at educating residents on the dangers, symptoms, and prevention of the disease.
Residents have been encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity by participating in the exercise, getting tested, and learning more about maintaining healthy lifestyles.
The council emphasized that early detection remains a critical step in controlling tuberculosis and preventing its spread within communities.
“Health is a right that must be protected and made accessible to all,” the statement noted, urging residents to actively support the initiative.
The outreach forms part of ongoing efforts by Lekki LCDA to strengthen healthcare delivery and promote a healthier, more informed population.
