Operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce have arrested suspected “Omotaku” touts in separate incidents across the state, following complaints of harassment and intimidation of motorists.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the arrests were made on Wednesday at Marwa Bus Stop in Lekki and along Ikorodu Road at Palmgrove, according to a statement by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.

At Marwa Bus Stop, a truck driver whose vehicle reportedly broke down was approached by some individuals who allegedly demanded his phone and money while issuing threats.
In a similar incident at Palmgrove, suspected touts were said to have attempted to harass motorists and other road users, creating tension in the area.

Officials of the Taskforce quickly intervened in both cases, restoring order and apprehending the suspects at the scenes.
Authorities confirmed that the individuals arrested would be processed in accordance with the law.
Reaffirming its stance, the agency said enforcement operations would continue across identified hotspots to eliminate harassment, maintain order, and ensure the safety of residents and road users across Lagos.
