A special prayer session was held at Oke-Balogun Central Mosque in Epe Division in support of the governorship aspiration of Obafemi Hamzat, as Islamic clerics, community leaders, faithful members, and supporters gathered to seek divine guidance, wisdom, and success for the Lagos State Deputy Governor.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the spiritual gathering, which also featured prayers for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, drew a large turnout of residents and stakeholders who described Dr. Hamzat as a capable and experienced leader prepared to sustain the progress and development of Lagos State.
Speaking during the programme, Babatunde Seriki expressed joy and excitement that Oke-Balogun is producing a strong governorship aspirant for Lagos State, noting that the community remains proud of Dr. Hamzat’s achievements and leadership qualities.
According to him, the people consider it a great privilege and blessing for Oke-Balogun to be associated with the next governor of Lagos State.
“We are extremely happy that the incoming governor of Lagos State is coming from Oke-Balogun. This is a thing of joy and pride for our community. The only thing we can genuinely offer him at this critical stage is prayers because leadership comes from God,” he stated.
He further noted that past governors in Lagos State had performed excellently and expressed confidence that Dr. Hamzat would also deliver quality leadership and continue the developmental strides of the state if elected governor.
The prayer session was hosted by Sheikh Imam AbdulRahman Abiola Sadallah Aliru, the Grand Chief Imam and President-General of the League of Imams and Alfas in Epe Division, Lagos State.
In his remarks, Sheikh Aliru stressed the need for continuous prayers for leaders, especially for someone aspiring to occupy the number one political office in Lagos State.
According to him, more prayer sessions would still be organized after the party primaries, adding that every part of Epe Division would be mobilized to pray for the success of Dr. Hamzat’s aspiration.
“The position of governor is a very powerful and sensitive office. That is why we must continue to pray for Dr. Obafemi Hamzat. Another prayer programme will still hold after the primaries because it is not over until it is over,” the cleric said.
He also urged Dr. Hamzat to remain steadfast and prayerful while offering prayers for his late parents, asking Almighty Allah to continue to grant them mercy and eternal rest.
The event featured Quranic recitations, special prayers, and supplications for peace, unity, and continued progress in Lagos State, with many attendees expressing optimism about Dr. Hamzat’s leadership capacity and vision for the future of the state.
Participants described the gathering as a strong reflection of the growing grassroots support and spiritual backing for the governorship aspiration of Dr. Obafemi Hamzat across Epe Division and Lagos State.
