Galatasaray went on to suffer a 4–0 defeat, exiting the competition 4–1 on aggregate against the side managed by Arne Slot.

In an official update, the Turkish club confirmed that initial medical checks raised concerns about a possible fracture, which later tests verified. Osimhen was subsequently placed in a cast, while doctors will determine in the coming days whether surgery is required.
The injury occurred following a challenge from Ibrahima Konaté. Despite the knock, Osimhen tried to continue before being withdrawn at the break.
Head coach Okan Buruk admitted the team initially attempted to keep the Nigerian forward on the pitch, but his condition worsened as the game progressed.

Buruk also expressed frustration with the officiating, suggesting that fouls against his player were not properly handled and criticizing the overall performance of the referee.
Reflecting on the match, the coach acknowledged that Liverpool were the better side on the night.
He pointed to a combination of setbacks, including Osimhen’s injury, a poor start, and the team’s inability to assert themselves, as factors that contributed to the heavy defeat.
