The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has dismissed claims regarding the political position of its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, stating that he has not endorsed any political party or candidate.
In a statement released on Tuesday through the church’s official public relations X account, RCCG said Pastor Adeboye has consistently encouraged members to participate in the democratic process by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and voting according to their conscience.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the church stressed that the revered cleric’s message has always centred on civic responsibility and active citizenship rather than partisan affiliation.
According to the statement, members of the RCCG belong to different political parties and political persuasions, and each individual remains free to exercise his or her constitutional right to vote responsibly.
The church also refuted reports claiming that Pastor Adeboye called off a planned protest, describing such reports as misleading and inaccurate.
RCCG explained that the General Overseer merely communicated a directive issued by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) regarding changes to a previously scheduled three-day prayer programme.
The statement noted that the revised arrangement involved holding the grand finale of the programme at a central venue, accompanied by a rally around the designated location.
Addressing claims that Pastor Adeboye has remained silent on national issues, the church maintained that the cleric has consistently spoken on matters affecting the country, including insecurity, corruption, economic hardship, elections, governance, and the need for righteous leadership.
It added that while Adeboye often addresses such concerns, he does so through prayer, moral instruction, and spiritual guidance rather than partisan political confrontation.
The church further stated that neither Pastor Adeboye nor the RCCG should be judged based on misinformation, false narratives, or inaccurate reports circulating in the public space.
RCCG urged members of the public to rely on its official communication channels and authorised representatives for accurate information concerning the church and its General Overseer.

The church also called on bloggers, media organisations, commentators, and content creators to verify information before publication, emphasizing the importance of responsible journalism and factual reporting.
“Verify before you believe. Fact-check before you publish. Truth matters,” the statement added.
