Mukhtaar Tijani Hails Lagos Water Corporation’s Staff’s Dedication As Agency Undergoes Restructuring

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Managing Director of the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), Engr. Mukhtaar Temitope Tijani, has commended the corporation’s staff for their dedication and commitment towards the smooth running of the ongoing restructuring exercise.

According to a statement issued by the corporation on Wednesday, Tijani made the commendation on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, while updating the LWC Management Staff on the recent restructuring/change process being experienced in the body.

The LWV boss stated that the restructuring exercise is geared towards improved service delivery and bringing back the lost glory of the corporation.

Tijani further described the exercise as inevitable and continuous for positive results.

“We intend to run a result driven and commercial focused system. We hope to bring a new culture of improved efficiency and bring everyone on board for improved service delivery,” he said.

Noting that Lagos Urban Water Sanitation and Hygiene (LUWASH) is currently supporting the water sector in various activities, which include the rehabilitation of some micro/mini water works to close water demand gap, the LWC MD urged the staff to be more committed towards the corporation’s transformation process for progress.

Engr. Tijani, however, enjoined the staff of the corporation to return to status quo, and asked the most senior officers to take charge of the respective departments, as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) would be a yardstick for distribution of job positions as the process continues.

He also appealed to the staff to work with him as the organizational transformation is a strategy for change, intended to move the corporation from where it currently is to a desired future state.

In her stance to the latest development, the LWC Executive Director, Operations, Engr. (Mrs.) Omolanke Taiwo added that the initiative is necessary for the betterment of the corporation.
