According to Tinubu, discussions with the French government have opened up opportunities for Nigeria to access military equipment, training, and technical support needed to combat terrorism and other security threats.
“I can report to you that after a lengthy discussion with President Emmanuel Macron, there is a commitment to collaborate with us on equipment and support,” he said.
“I’m making frantic efforts to contact other nations. If we have to spend our goodwill and line of credit, we have those willing to support us with equipment and training.”
The President described insecurity as one of the most pressing challenges facing his administration, stressing that it must be confronted decisively to safeguard Nigeria’s development and stability.
“The next phase of our struggle is the challenge of insecurity. We must work together to achieve victory,” Tinubu stated.

He emphasised that insecurity remains a major threat to economic growth, national progress, and the wellbeing of citizens, adding that his administration is committed to investing in modern technology and strengthening the capacity of security forces.
Tinubu also noted that part of his engagements during the UK visit focused on defence cooperation, particularly in the area of military hardware acquisition.
Beyond security, the President acknowledged the economic pressures facing Nigerians, warning that ongoing tensions in the Middle East could further drive inflation, increase fuel prices, and worsen the cost of living.
“I know this Middle East crisis will affect our purchasing power and create transportation and food price challenges,” he said.
He urged governors to prioritise the welfare of vulnerable citizens in their states, noting that while progress has been made, more needs to be done to cushion economic hardship.
The President also extended condolences to the people of Borno State following recent attacks, urging continued support for affected communities.
Reaffirming his administration’s resolve, Tinubu declared that Nigeria must defeat terrorism and restore lasting peace across all regions.
“We must defeat terrorism and all these criminal acts. With investment in technology and equipment, we will overcome,” he said.
