The scenic coastline of Eleko Beach came alive with excitement and vibrant activities as a grand Easter Beach Fiesta brought together residents, community leaders, stakeholders, and visitors in a colourful celebration of culture, unity, and recreation.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the well-attended event, hosted by the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, showcased the rich cultural heritage and communal spirit of the people, while also highlighting the growing importance of tourism as a key driver of development.
From the early hours of the day, the beachfront transformed into a hub of entertainment, featuring music, dance, games, and engaging social activities that created a memorable experience for attendees of all ages. The atmosphere reflected joy, relaxation, and a strong sense of togetherness among participants.
In his address, the Chairman expressed appreciation for the massive turnout and enthusiastic participation of residents, describing the fiesta as a platform for strengthening unity and promoting peaceful coexistence.
“This event is not just about celebration, but about bringing our people together and creating opportunities for social interaction and community bonding,” he said.
He further emphasized that the initiative aligns with his administration’s vision of holistic development, which prioritizes not only infrastructure and economic growth but also social engagement, tourism, and community well-being.
Speaking on the broader significance of the event, the Supervisor for Infrastructure, Housing, and Tourism, Alonge Fatai, noted that the impressive turnout reflects the increasing appeal of the area as a destination for leisure and cultural activities.
“The level of participation we are seeing today shows that this environment has great potential as a tourism hub, and we are committed to developing it further,” he stated.
Also lending his voice, Hon. Apata Samson Nugayon, National Vice President (South West) of the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria and CEO of Eko Destination Ltd, described the initiative as a strategic step toward unlocking the economic potential of tourism.
“People need places to relax, especially after busy schedules. What we are witnessing here is a clear signal that serious attention is now being given to tourism development,” he said.
He further urged sustained investment in the sector, noting that tourism could become a major source of revenue if properly harnessed.
The event also featured captivating performances from local talents, adding colour and excitement to the celebration, while reinforcing the cultural richness of the community. The seamless organization and strong collaboration among stakeholders contributed to the overall success of the fiesta.
Dignitaries present included the Vice Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Isiaka Olatunji; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Fasasi Adebanjo; members of the Legislative Council; supervisors; special advisers; community leaders; and other top government functionaries and security personnel.
