Federal Government has cautioned Nigerians against travelling outside the country without valid immigration documents, warning that such actions violate the law and could expose travellers to serious dangers.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the warning was issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service in a public advisory shared on X on Monday by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, AS Akinlabi.

According to the agency, international travel must be undertaken only with valid passports, visas where necessary, and other officially approved travel documents.
The service stressed that attempts to evade immigration procedures or use illegal border routes amount to breaches of Nigerian laws.
The NIS also expressed concern over the rise in fraudulent migration arrangements allegedly operated by criminal groups targeting unsuspecting Nigerians, especially young people.

It noted that victims are often deceived with promises of jobs, educational opportunities and better living conditions abroad, only to end up facing exploitation.
The agency warned that such schemes have led many people into forced labour, human trafficking and other forms of abuse.
It further emphasised that legitimate migration processes do not involve bypassing official border channels or established immigration procedures.
