- U.S. President Donald J. Trump has officially distanced Washington from an Israeli air strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field, the world’s largest natural gas deposit.
- While acknowledging that Israel “violently lashed out” at the facility, Trump asserted that the U.S. had no prior knowledge of the operation and maintained that Qatar was also unaware of the strike.
- The President issued a severe “red line” warning to Tehran, stating that any further Iranian retaliation against Qatari LNG infrastructure would trigger a “massive” U.S. military response to destroy the entirety of the South Pars field.
President Donald Trump utilized his Truth Social platform to clarify the U.S. position following a series of cross-border missile and air strikes.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Trump confirmed that Israel targeted a “relatively small section” of the South Pars Gas Field in Iran, an action he characterized as an angry response to recent Middle Eastern escalations.

Crucially, the President moved to protect the diplomatic standing of Qatar, a key U.S. ally and host of the largest American military base in the region.
He emphasized that neither the U.S. nor Qatar authorized or knew about the Israeli strike.
This clarification follows an Iranian retaliatory strike on Wednesday, where five ballistic missiles were launched at Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City.
While Qatari forces intercepted four, one missile hit the facility, causing extensive damage and fires that QatarEnergy teams are still working to contain.
The President’s message carried a dual-edged ultimatum.
While he declared that “NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL” on the South Pars field for now, he warned Iran that the U.S. would not tolerate further aggression against Qatari energy assets.
“If Qatar’s LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate,” Trump wrote, threatening to “massively blow up” the Iranian sector of the gas field with a level of power “Iran has never seen or witnessed before.”

The South Pars field is a shared resource between Iran and Qatar, making it one of the most strategically sensitive locations in the world.
As Qatar continues to assess the damage at Ras Laffan and search for potential casualties, the global energy market remains on edge.
The Qatari Ministry of Defense has reaffirmed its commitment to defending its borders, while the international community watches to see if Tehran will heed Washington’s latest warning or continue its campaign of “powerful action” against regional energy hubs.
