The victims, identified as eight year old Ahmad and 10 year old Hussainat, were trapped under the rubble before being rescued by residents at the scene. They were later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officials of the Kwara State Fire Service arrived shortly after and carried out rescue and salvage operations.
The Director of the agency, Alabi Muhammed, who supervised the operation, expressed concern over the growing number of ageing and weak structures across the state.
He urged property owners to prioritise safety, stressing the need for regular structural checks and timely repairs to prevent such incidents.
Authorities said items including clothing, food supplies, electronics, and important documents were recovered from the building.

It was also gathered that the caretaker of the property had earlier been warned about the deteriorating condition of the structure.
Following an assessment, officials recommended that the building be sealed off, while residents in a nearby unsafe structure have been given seven days to vacate.
The directive is being enforced by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to prevent further risks.
The incident has renewed concerns over building safety in the state, with authorities urging residents to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to avoid preventable disasters.
