Arsenal are aiming to win the Champions League for the first time in their history, nearly two decades after Wenger guided the team to the 2006 final, where they were defeated by Barcelona.

Speaking in an interview with the UK Mirror, the French tactician reflected on how close Arsenal came to glory during his reign.
According to him, the club came within minutes of winning the competition in 2006, making the desire to finally claim the title even stronger.
Wenger said he believes the final remains evenly balanced but admitted he would back Arsenal ahead of PSG if asked to make a prediction.
Meanwhile, former England midfielder Paul Merson believes Arsenal’s strength from set-pieces could prove decisive against the French champions.

Merson said Arsenal’s physical presence may create major problems for PSG, particularly during corners and free-kicks.
Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, he argued that PSG’s relatively smaller squad could struggle to cope with Arsenal’s aerial threat.
He added that every Arsenal set-piece situation could become dangerous for the Ligue 1 side, describing the encounter as a clash between one of Europe’s strongest attacking units and one of its best defensive teams.
