Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has inaugurated a new radio station, Majority FM 89.5, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the broadcast outfit is housed within the headquarters of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Port Harcourt and comes amid heightened political activities linked to preparations for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign, particularly in the South-South zone.

A video of the commissioning ceremony, shared on Saturday by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, showed the minister touring the facility, inspecting the studios, and engaging with station personnel.

Posting the footage on X, Olayinka announced the launch, noting that the radio station would serve as a communication hub for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Rivers State.
Speaking during the commissioning, Wike described Majority FM as a strategic platform for reaching grassroots communities across the state.
According to him, the station is expected to amplify political messaging and connect with residents across Rivers State’s wards and polling units.

“This station will help take our message to every part of Rivers State. We are fully prepared for the task ahead and ready for 2027,” Wike said.
