Betta Edu, Bobrisky Probes – EFCC Releases Updates On Investigation
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that its investigations into former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, and popular cross-dresser Okuneye Idris, known as Bobrisky, are ongoing.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, represented by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed that the investigation into Edu focuses on alleged misconduct, with N30 billion recovered so far and over 40 linked bank accounts currently under examination.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that regarding Bobrisky, Uwujaren noted that allegations of bribery within the EFCC to dismiss money laundering charges against the social media personality are being thoroughly examined. He assured that any staff found guilty of professional misconduct would be held accountable.
“On the investigations into the allegations involving Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan, I can confirm that the investigative process is moving forward, and any verified misconduct will face appropriate action.
I have witnessed strict enforcement of professional conduct in my years here,” Uwujaren said.
On Betta Edu’s case, he reiterated that the investigation requires time to analyze the numerous accounts under review.
He further referenced senior government spokesperson Bayo Onanuga’s statement that a report on the matter was submitted to the President, who subsequently appointed a new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs based on that information.
The EFCC has pledged to continue providing updates on these high-profile investigations as they unfold.
