President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Mr Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance, replacing Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the nomination was conveyed to the Senate in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, according to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Eko Hot Blog reports that under the new arrangement, Dr Uzoka-Anite will be redeployed to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State. The move marks her third portfolio within the current administration.
Before his nomination, Oyedele served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he led efforts to overhaul Nigeria’s tax framework. His appointment is widely seen as reinforcing the administration’s fiscal reform agenda.

Oyedele, 50, is from Ikaram in Akoko, Ondo State. An economist, accountant and public policy expert, he began his academic journey at Yaba College of Technology, earning a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance. He later obtained a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
He has also completed executive education programmes at the London School of Economics, Yale University, the Gordon Institute of Business Science and the Harvard Kennedy School.
Professionally, Oyedele spent 22 years at PwC, joining the firm in 2001 and rising to become Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader. In academia, he serves as a professor at Babcock University in Ogun State and as a visiting scholar at the Lagos Business School.
His nomination is subject to confirmation by the Senate.
