Eko Hot Blog reports that Augustine University recently organized a training programme on food safety and kitchen hygiene for meal providers operating within the university community, aimed at promoting safe food handling and improved hygiene standards on campus.
The training was facilitated by Cecilia Okonkwo and Anastasia Nwankwo, who equipped participants with essential knowledge on food safety regulations, various types of food hazards, and proper food storage and kitchen hygiene practices.
The programme brought together several food vendors within the university environment who actively participated in the sessions designed to strengthen their understanding of safe food preparation and handling.
During the training, the facilitators engaged participants through interactive lectures and practical discussions to enhance learning and encourage participation.
At a stage during the programme, the vendors were divided into groups where they discussed assigned topics, answered questions and presented their ideas and recommendations to the larger audience.
The initiative forms part of the university’s commitment to ensuring a healthy and safe food environment for students, staff and visitors within the campus community.
