Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted a state banquet in honour of Olatunji Disu, celebrating his rise and achievements as a proud son of Lagos.

In a statement shared on X, the governor described the police chief as a product of Lagos whose journey reflects dedication and service. He noted that Disu’s formative years in the state played a key role in shaping his values and career.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted how Lagos influenced the police chief’s development, from his early life on Lagos Island to his academic experience at Lagos State University, where he studied English Education.

The governor also recalled Disu’s time leading the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos, saying his leadership helped strengthen security and build public trust before he moved on to national responsibilities.
According to him, the police chief’s career stands as an example of discipline, integrity, and commitment to public service.

He added that the state takes pride in his accomplishments and the values he represents at the national level.
Disu, who was appointed Inspector General by Bola Tinubu, previously served in key policing roles, including commanding the Rapid Response Squad for several years.

The banquet, the governor said, was both a celebration of service and a recognition of the enduring “Lagos spirit” reflected in Disu’s leadership.
