Two soldiers attached to the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident, which occurred on May 30 along the 74 Road corridor in Oshimili South, has sparked an investigation after the driver involved in the crash reportedly tested positive for hard drugs.

According to security sources, the soldiers were travelling on a motorcycle when they were struck by a vehicle under circumstances that are currently being investigated.
Following reports of the accident, military personnel swiftly responded to the scene and evacuated the victims to the 63 Brigade Medical Centre for emergency treatment.
However, medical personnel later confirmed that the two soldiers were dead on arrival.
The driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested by security operatives and subjected to drug screening.

According to reports, the suspect allegedly tested positive for cannabis and cocaine, raising further concerns over the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
The suspect has since been handed over to the 63 Provost Company for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased soldiers have been deposited at the morgue of the Asaba Specialist Hospital pending further arrangements by military authorities and their families.
Authorities have commenced a full investigation to determine the immediate and remote causes of the accident.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns over drug-impaired driving and road safety, particularly on major roads across the country.
