Alaafin’s 13th Wife: Chioma Nwadike Involves Her Lawyers, Accuses Bloggers Of Character Defamation

Chioma said fake news has become a problem in Nigeria and it will not go out of fashion any time soon.
She called on bloggers to always verify a news report before they begin to share it.

On the 11th of March, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, was reported to have married a new wife named Chioma, who turns out to be his 13th wife.

But the following day, the picture of a lady, named Chioma Nwadike, who was purported to be the new wife of Alaafin of Oyo trended online for the wrong reasons, as the lady who married the Alaafin even if it wasn’t her.

Now, due to the emotional distress she has gone through as a result of what happened, Chioma Nwadike has involved her lawyers and also accused the bloggers behind the story of defamation of character.

During an interview with BBC pidgin, she accused her detractors of trying to bring her down and being behind the purported story that she was the woman who married the Alaafin of Oyo.

According to her, she is neither famous nor known and wondered why they chose to use her own name, Chioma.

She furthered that the picture of the man they claimed she left to marry the Alaafin of Oyo was actually a picture of her Ex husband and not her boyfriend.

Chioma who later put out a disclaimer to debunk the story on her Twitter handle said Nigerians are fond of spreading false news, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
