Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has alleged that a factional chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Nafiu Bala, is now moving with a level of security and logistics comparable to that of a state governor.
Speaking during an interview with Deutsche Welle Hausa service, Eko Hot Blog gathered that Atiku claimed that Bala’s sudden change in lifestyle is being backed by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

He linked the ongoing crisis within the ADC to what he described as external interference, suggesting that the ruling party is uneasy about the growing influence of the opposition platform.

According to Atiku, despite internal disputes, the party continues to attract new members nationwide, insisting that public support remains strong.
He argued that certain political interests are attempting to destabilise the ADC because of its rising popularity, alleging that individuals within the party have been influenced to serve external agendas.
The former vice president also questioned how Bala allegedly acquired enhanced security presence, vehicles, and accommodation, describing the development as evidence of outside backing.
Atiku further raised concerns about Bala’s movements, claiming he has avoided returning to his hometown since the crisis began, and questioned the reasons behind it.

Despite recent challenges, including issues surrounding recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Atiku maintained that the party remains resilient and focused.
He added that the ADC continues to attract significant youth participation, noting that many of its aspiring candidates, from local government to governorship levels, are young Nigerians.
According to him, the party is committed to expanding opportunities for both youths and women in the political space.
