The meeting comes amid reactions trailing the party’s presidential primary, which produced Atiku as the ADC candidate for the 2027 general election.
The primary result was announced on Wednesday night at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, where Atiku defeated Amaechi and former banker Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

According to the official figures released by the party, Atiku secured 1,846,370 votes, while Amaechi polled 504,117 votes and Hayatu-Deen received 177,120 votes.
Following the declaration, the ADC leadership led by former Senate President David Mark presented the party’s flag to Atiku as its presidential standard-bearer.
The party had opted for the direct primary system after all three aspirants rejected calls for a consensus arrangement before the election.
Speaking after his victory, Atiku appealed to dissatisfied members and contestants to remain united in the interest of the party.
He urged aggrieved stakeholders to put the contest behind them and work together ahead of the general election.
The former vice president specifically called on Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen to join forces with him in what he described as a collective effort to strengthen democracy and reposition the country.

Atiku also stressed that the outcome of the primary should not create divisions within the party, insisting that the contest produced no enemies.
He pledged to collaborate with all stakeholders to build the ADC ahead of the 2027 elections and promised inclusive leadership if elected.
Despite the appeal, both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen reportedly rejected the outcome of the exercise, citing alleged irregularities during the voting process.
Hayatu-Deen was also said to have declined attendance at the official declaration of the results.
As of the time of filing the report, details of the closed-door meeting between Atiku and Amaechi had not been disclosed publicly.
