Nigerian socialite Paschal Okechukwu, popularly known as Chief Priest, has said his failed attempt to secure a House of Representatives ticket in the All Progressives Congress primaries will not stop his political ambition.

He said several people mocked him on social media and portrayed his political move as a mistake, but insisted that the experience had only strengthened his interest in politics.
According to him, the setback provided a deeper understanding of Nigeria’s political system and the patience required to succeed in public office.
The socialite noted that political success is often achieved over time and rarely comes through a single attempt.
Drawing comparisons with President Bola Tinubu’s political journey, Chief Priest said the president spent years building alliances, supporting other politicians and waiting for the right opportunity before attaining the presidency.
He explained that Tinubu’s path demonstrated the importance of patience, strategy and long-term planning in politics.
Chief Priest added that he intends to adopt a similar approach by stepping back when necessary, reorganising and returning stronger in future political contests.
He maintained that losing an election does not mean the end of his political aspirations, stressing that he would contest again when the opportunity arises.
The entertainer also revealed that he quickly returned to his entertainment career after the primary defeat, adding that he had already released a new song shortly after the exercise.
